Cartridge Heater
Deep Heaters is a trusted cartridge heater supplier, delivering reliable and cost-effective heating solutions for high-precision industrial heating applications.
Cartridge Heater for Industrial Heating Applications
Deep Heaters manufactures high-quality cartridge heaters designed for accurate and uniform heating of metal components in industrial machinery. Our heaters are also very popular as an industrial cartridge heater system in the case where high watt density, quick heat transfer and compact heating design are important in order to keep the accuracy of the production.
They are typically fitted in the injection molds, dies, platens, sealing bars, packaging machines, hot runner systems and medical equipment.
Deep Heaters serve industries which have regular needs of internal heating to maintain dimensions in their products, flow in production, as well as the efficiency of the process.
What Is a Cartridge Heater?
A cartridge heater is a cylindrical electric cartridge heater intended to fit into cut holes in metal parts to locally heat them.
It is a set up of a resistance coil (usually nickel-chromium wire) that is tightly wound over a ceramic core. High-purity magnesium oxide (MgO) powder is used as an insulator to the coils to give an excellent electrical insulator and facilitate good heat transfer. Mechanical strength and durability has been ensured by putting the assembly in a stainless steel sheath.
It is ideal for use as a cartridge heater in industries because it is compact and has high heat concentration, thermal response and safe working conditions in the harsh industrial environment.

How Does a Cartridge Heater Work?
Cartridge heaters can be explained by the fact that they are based on the idea of electrical resistance heating. They transform the electrical energy to thermal energy and conduct this heat to the metal components.
1
Electric Current Activation
When power is supplied, electrical current flows through the internal resistance wire embedded inside the heater.
2
Thermal Energy Generation
As current passes through the resistance wire, heat is generated due to electrical resistance. The tightly packed construction ensures rapid temperature rise.
3
Heat Transfer Through Magnesium Oxide Insulation
The compressed magnesium oxide insulation provides electrical isolation while allowing efficient heat conduction toward the outer sheath.
4
Direct Conduction to Metal Surface
The stainless steel outer sheath transfers the generated heat directly to the surrounding metal part, such as a mold or die block.
Installation and Maintenance Guidelines
Correct fitting and regular inspection play a vital role in maintaining heating efficiency and extending cartridge heater life.
- Ensure proper hole tolerance for snug fit
- Clean bore holes before installation
- Avoid forcing heater into undersized holes
- Verify correct voltage before power supply
- Inspect lead wires and terminals regularly
- Avoid operating beyond rated temperature
